Has anybody gone this route? I’ve been considering this as it’s faster, maybe a little cheaper, and with the slew of companies making solvent traps that can be turned into a suppressor, seems like a viable option.

Going the same route. Alot of good titanium options out there. Haven't done the Form 1's yet though. They are currently still catching solvent

Of course he has. If it’s the one I’m thinking of, it was messed up.

Which ones did you buy? I’m needing a 45 caliber that will support up to 2600fps

I bought some stainless steel ones. Gonna Form 1 those. And if they do fine I'm gonna upgrade to Titanium. But they are awesome solvent traps. Bet they'd make a good suppressor. grin

No jack [censored] that was actually a form 4 from a manufacturer. Don’t get me started on that one. It’s basically a paper weight now.

The Form1 is good. It’s only 5” long 1.5” in diameter full titanium I run it on my 10.5” 556. It definitely doesn’t suppress as good as my 30cal on it but it’s a tiny package. Titanium tube, titanium end caps, and titanium baffles besides the SS blast baffle. I bored the baffels to 30cal so I could change the threaded end cap to 5x24 and use it on my 300BLK at the time but now will run it on my 300 HAM’R. It will probably suppress those two calibers better than the 556.

Left to right.
YHM Phantom 30, crappy one that had to get retreaded from, SiCo Octane 45k, form 1 556, another form 1 but extremely heavy all SS.

I was looking at these on AliExpress. Not bad on the pricing.

Probably wait longer on shipping from them than you would on the stamp itself.

Stubby 5.56 of Kylies has been on my AR and it is functional and works as advertised for the record. We tried to sight in that cluster F they called an X-sight with it. I know which one you shot and that one is not hearing safe. We are not going to discuss it in detail though

Yea I got shafted on that deal lol. Oh well live and learn.

Either deal with a reputable manufacturer or make it yourself.

I built 3 of them last year. One more for Rimfire, one for my 40 S&W carbines, and one for my 6.8 SPC II AR. They are all the same size - 8" x 1.5", the company that I ordered them from didn't have any of the 10" in stock at the time.
The Rimfire and 40 cal can's work pretty good. I'm shooting sub-sonic hand loads out of the pc carbines. The 6.8 can doesn't come close to what my 30 cal suppressor's do, but I'll probably just buy a spare end cap and drill it out for another rimfire can.

One thing that I learned doing a Form 1 is you don't want to make up your own Model when you do the application. It will add several weeks in getting approved because your application goes to Research. Just choose a Model name from the huge list that previous applicants have done previously.
It took me around 9 weeks to get approved, if I would have chosen a model name from the list it would've only taken 3-4 weeks to get approved.
