The last great reset when bankers crashed the market to corner it again (consolidate power). We are about 8 years away from a 100 year anniversary. Wash , rinse , repeat. Just saying

Quote
The Great Depression started in the United States after a major fall in stock prices that began around September 4, 1929, and became worldwide news with the stock market crash of October 29, 1929,

Another doomsday thread. Head lighting deer and picking up scrap iron.

Won’t crash again as easily as there are actual circuit breakers that will trip to prevent a catastrophic runaway crash. Market may sell off over time, but it has always come back.

The larger majority of people today won't be able to go through a real
depression like my folks went through as children. Can you imagine
21st century people only having one set of clothing and one pair of
shoes, and only having a supply of food that you put up yourselves.
Either that or doing without completely? Having to wake up and go
do hard working chores before time to go to school, then getting right
back to doing those chores after getting back from school and working
until dark? Having a supper of greens or one vegetable a majority of
the time, if you had supper at all? What if you could carry everything you
owned in your hands in a small bundle?

It'd be too much for 21st century people to cope with

Plant your victory gardens now. I'm growing cucumbers, peppers and spinach. Maybe I'll grow some radishes this fall.

Yes and consumer confidence is still high, so high it’s pushing a ton of inflation but not the less high.

A lot of companies making record profits. I looks at contingent work force companies first. They are first to explode and first to plummet based off the true economy

Not all depressions are going to look the same. I promise you our next depression will look NOTHING like what you described.

No-one who truly understands what the Federal Reserve is and how our banking and monetary system is constructed, would have anything but extreme concern for what is coming shortly.

Our Ponzi scheme debt based monetary system is collapsing. It's collapsing all over the world. The dollar is just the prettiest mare at the slaughter house for now. No one is getting out what is coming unscathed.

the economy was design to collapse, so no one else catches up. They created it to collapse on the creators time line.

Yep, and the stock market is all anybody wants to talk about. The world runs on credit. Credit is extended heavily right now, from mortgages, to student debt, to credit cards, to low grade credit on autos, to, to, to, .....

Margin debt is at all time highs for the stock market discussion. And one of the financial channels most overlooked issues is commercial debt. There is a lot of vacant commercial property.

Check this out. There are zombie malls all over across the country that get talked about. However, up and running malls are in deep ****.

Previous Great Depression had country people moving to the city for factory work. No factories left in the cities this time.
The recent test scenario had city people moving to the country. Many of them are moving back to the city. Some yit brain out here was complaining about gravel roads and why can't the county seal/pave her road with everyone else's tax dollars.

That is caused by technology and culture change. E commerce is killing the malls. Nothing more.

Agreed. I don’t know how most brick / mortar stores survive.
No inventory, they’re out constantly.
No workers, can’t find anyone most of the time.
The overhead is stifling.

Online purchases will be their Waterloo

The only time I can remember walking into a mall in the last 10 years was in Costa Rica and the made in Costa Rica item I bought there I later found I could have bought online when I got home and for less. I can't remember the last time I walked into a Cabelas or Bass Pro. All my hunting gear and ammo is bought online. Even before Covid we bought 90% of our groceries online. Replaced some appliances recently. All bought online shipped free to my door. And so on.

Maybe this is a bad time to mention that your money in the banks are actually an unsecured loan to them. If they go insolvent, the can seize your deposits and it's considered a bad loan. IYou should have chose your bank better. it's called "bail in". It's part of that great "Dodd Frank" omnibus financial bill that came out of the last financial crises that was written by bankers.

I know it's FDIC insured but they have about 1% of what they need to insure all deposits.
