I was wanting to know how many 50lbs. bags of corn will it take to fill a 55gal. feeder?

Funnel in bottom of barrel? I have the Monarch barrel, funnel in the bottom, and I can get 320 pounds into it.

I can't quite get 6 bags in mine, it is close, but I also have a funnel in the bottom of mine.

If the bags are REALLY 50 pounds then 6 will fill it up, but I have seen many times where it could hold about 1/2 bag more after dumping 300 pounds in it!

+1... the 1/2 bag goes in the feeder, the other half gets sprinkled out on the edge of the foodplot.

I fill 15 55-gal feeders. No funnels. Seven (7) bags.

we have six with funnels all will take 6 50lb bags

I have heard it takes 5 & 1/2 bags of Indian corn due to the density of the colored corn.

Be careful, when you first start feeding indian corn. But since you hace the acorns between the feeders, I would keep the corn out as much as possible. Once the deer start on eating the indian corn, you will enjoy the results. I feed Indian Corn, and the deer really seem to like it, and stay at the feeder longer..!
