Cut it off at the bottom joint. Then you can eat like a monkey or any thing that does not have an opposable thumb like Tom Thumb. What did I win?

Yeah, I'd probably cut the nail back a little further, get my dental pick with the really sharp point, and hook on and remove it. Just think how it's gonna feel when it gets infected, and the doctor shoves that syringe under the nail to inject the lidocaine, before digging it!!!  This here.

Sharpest tweezers you can find. Betaine the ends, bite your lip and get them in there. The nail bed is one of the most sensitive places on your body. It ain't gonna be fun, but it's gotta be done.
The V cut ain't wrong either.

Couldn't you burn thru the nail with a red hot needle like they use when you mash a finger to relive the pressure burn it long ways and then grab it

Leave it. I’ve had wood and metal splinters get under the nail like that, your body will push them out in about a month to 6 weeks.

i've gotten quite a few splinters under my finger nails... they generally work their way out.. i also try to massage that area of the nail with another finger outwards to maybe help it out a little...

Who in the Good Lords name would actually seek out this advice on here. This is scary.
I do see an episode of Dr. Pimple Popper in the next few weeks. In honesty, I have never watched one minute of that show. But it seems appropriate.

soak it in warm oil, it will soften the whole area. Might push it out.
Other than that I would wait. If she does rear up on you, go to a local neighborhood ER. they can deaden it and work it out

Did it bleed? Looks like it’s just under the nail, I’d probably leave it alone. I’ve got more healed over thorns in the ends of my fingers than hair on my head… might not be saying much lol
Sometimes they swell and pop out sometimes they just heal over.
