Y'all are killing me with this......."Bowtech is fast but hey man, my XT is sooo much smoother" CRAP. I killed many big bucks with my PSE back in the day. It was not "Smooth" at all but pretty fast. Not nearly as good as todays bows, but it worked. Now, if my bowtech hits it's 315 rating and your Matthews cannot......wow....290......and we stand side by side and hit the 2" circle at 20 yards every time.....smooth vs fast...advantage FAST. see you in deer camp.

i had a reflex bighorn hunter before this year. i loved it. shot great. now have a switchback. its a matter of opinion. if i like my smooth bow better than your faster bow...so be it. as far as 25fps difference, doesnt matter much. they will both kill a deer the same. just my opinion. to each his own.

have any of ya'll that have shot the mathews and the bowtech side by side shot the smooth mods, i don't think you have.i have sold a mess of xt's, but the tributes are coming on strong. now if the trykon's will get it in gear.what's funny is all the switchback trade ins on the bowtechs. i deal all of them, so i get these discussions everyday in the shop. a lot of the outcomes suprise even the hardcore.

Yes I have, would have done it at your place, but, you know the story. I was not hard core for any one brand, I shot many brands and their models until I was tired. I picked what I liked and felt good.

Less filling,,, tastes great!!! Back when I shot PSE, I thought they were the greatest bow made. Now, the last two bows I owned have been Matthews. Loved the SQ2 and now I love the Switchback XT. I know there are great bows out there made by other companies that this one will do this and that one will do that. I think it's all in what the shooter thinks about the feel, the looks and his style of shooting. I don't really think any particular bow is all that much better than the other top ends of the other brands. Most of the "feel" is in the set up and the add ons.

I'm afraid I have to disagree with you there. I think smoothness is a big advantage over speed. If you struggle to draw your faster bow then you just very well may get "busted" with all that movement. On the range , yeah you may be able to brag a little here and there but in the field you might come back empty handed. I myself own and love the BOwtech Tribute. I'm a big guy and the Tribute is a very smooth bow for me. But thats just me. Mathews are very nice and IMO a top notch bow that noone should talk down to. But i also feel that way about Bowtech. It all comes down to what works for you. Thats just my two cents.

Come on guys. Let's put a stop to all this "mine is better than yours crap".

To this point, I read the first post in one of these threads, and just click the back button, but it's getting to be all you guys have to talk about. Everything about a compound bow is a matter of personal preference. Therefore, how can mine be better than yours or vice versa?

The best part of a bow at full draw is behind the string

okay okay .. I know I always preach that a badass bow is all about personal prefrance. BUT if you take a look at the Sept. 2006 issue of Field & Stream they picked The Bowtech Tribute as their pick for 2006....6 different bow hunters and 8 different bows = 1 winner : Bowtech Tribute.
Of course..my bow.Again I refuse to bash any other bow out there.I just had to point out that artical.

As Uncle Ted said in a recent article about bow selection and tuning "theres really not a bad bow on the market today". It is fun, however to have a little competetive shooting in camp. Everyone in ours shoots different bows. Bowtech/Matthews/Hoyt/Browning and even an old dude that shoots an Onieda.

There are so many aspects that go into archery; sights, rests, arrows, releases etc. I believe that besides all that, a bow is only as good as the shooter. I shoot a hoyt X-tec, with copper john sights, a NAP drop away rest, tru-fire release and CX Maxima arrows; I really like this set up. When I was choosing the bow, I was also considering, Matthews, Bowtech, and AR. The Hoyt won out because I personally liked the riser design, and since then I have been amazed with the accuracy and consistenty. Most of this is determined by practice and getting to know the bow.
Hoyt is not for everyone, but it works well for me, just as is the case with any bow.

a slow hit is better than a fast miss.
