IDAGF. Thoroughly enjoyed using my Yoder today for a brisket. Was able to set a cooking plan via the app, left for 2 hours for a dinner, then went swimming, then watched a movie. App told me when it hit 202 internal temp 9.5 hours later. Waddled outside and checked for tenderness and decided to pull it and let it rest.

The results will come tomorrow.

For now just some pics.

I guess I’m in. I’ll be cooking on my first one today. Don’t have a clue what I’m doing so we will see.

EZ as long as you have a temp probe in the brisket. When mine gets to 160 degrees I wrap in foil and wait till 203 degrees. Pull and let rest till 140-145 then slice. If brisket stalls around 195 and never reaches 203 yank it.

What pellets are you using ?

Now that you have ventured over to the other side, get rid of the wife. Purchase one of them blow up dolls. They don't eat as much nor talk as much. In Addition, they are more dependable and you don't have to pay as much attention to them.

I'm not anti-pellet smoker but I will never own one. For me, it's the whole experience. Cutting and splitting post oak and mesquite, starting the fire, burning it down to coals, adjusting the draft, etc. Tending the fire is half the fun and something that was passed down to me from my dad and to him from his dad. Pouring a bag of pellets into an electric smoker just doesn't have the same charm.

Those high dollar silicone ones come with clothes.....so I've heard.
