Do not propose to her while drunk. Hud, stop it! He needs to do exactly that, and then post about it on here.

On the way home. Last night made this morning rough, lol.
Did the 5 in 1 voodoo tour, went into Lafitte blacksmith shop, had hurricanes at pat o Brian's (geez they were strong). Then spent a few hours on bourbon Street drinking and dancing. This morning hit up cafw du Monday for bagneits and coffee. Really the coffee wasn't that special but the doughnuts were good. Also took the advice posted earlier and grabbed a muffalotta sandwich from Central grocery right there and it was freaking excellent.
Stopping at Billy's mini mart now for fresh crackling and boudin balls.

It was a fun trip. But, I will say a few things about NO. Parts of bourbon Street and the French district do smell bad of sewage. There was tons of homeless and drug users, most not wearing shirts and looking really bad, laying everywhere. There were sketchy people watching and I almost got into an altercation with a group of three guys at one point when we stepped away from bourbon Street at 1am. I saw families with little kids walking down bourbon street, no way would I have taken my kids there. Its a dirty, disgusting, smelly, and potentially dangerous place. But, it was also a lot of fun. Will probably go back.

It would be a lot easier and cheaper to just start peeing in your garage everyday between now and August. Let it soak in really good. Then for vacation, set up a cot in the garage, drink a whole bottle of everclear, and have somebody come in about day two and crack the back of your head with a ball peen hammer. The total New Orleans experience right at your doorstep.

Do not propose to her while drunk. I think Nathan has closed that topic, but I commend your perseverance. Even if they get married, I doubt we will know. Never before on THF has there been 100% agreeance on a topic but that one was. Someone does win the lottery though, so Im thinking theres a chance.

Back when being a salesman was fun I used to take a bunch of customers down there every year to fish at Cocadrie. We’d spend one night in New Orleans on the way. We hit all of the bars.
The funnest trip a customer and I hooked up with two strippers right when we got there. He thought a lot more of his than I did of mine. He decided to stay with her in our motel instead of going fishing. He said it was a great three days. After I was done with my stripper I went to the casino and won $7500 playing craps.
I met the rest of our crew to go fishing the next morning at breakfast and headed for Cocadrie with no sleep. There is a gas station between Orleans and Houma that makes the best Bloody Mary I’ve ever had, (Saved my life.) I was drunker than [censored] the whole weekend but we caught a lot of fish.
I would recommend the strip bars with buckets of beer. They also had a girl with giant tittts that had Jell-O shots in a tube. She’d grab your head and blow a Jell-O shot down your throat while enveloping your head in her titts. When she blew the shot down your throat you could feel it hit the bottom of your stomach. Miss the good old days. I’m married now and don’t know if the trip would be the same. Oilfield is no fun anymore!

You are correct, the oilfield is definitely not the same as it was in the 80’s and early 90’s, I did a lot of crazy [censored] in my day, we should write a book!!

Just at the chargrilled oysters at Dragos. Pretty good stuff. Drago's chargrilled oysters are the best . Most of the negative comments are about Bourbon street , not the city as a whole. We stay near Harrahs Casino. We have been multiple times over the years , only went down Bourbon street once, won't go again. If you want to do some fishing , I can recommend a good captain in Shell Beach or Delacroix MO

If doing a road trip, go through krotz springs and stop at billys mini mart for fresh made cracklinns and Boudain balls, get the pepper jack balls and regular salted cracklins

Yes it is, but the lines are not. I've driven by there a LOT to and from the heliports and only went in one time because of the lines. I hurt myself that day. Billy's balls are great!
