I'm trying to refurbish my decoy spread with all GHG/Higdon/Avian's. I'm confused... I seem to have a hard time finding GHG decoys. The closest I got to finding them was at this link https://banded.com/product/pro-grade-blue-winged-teal/I have the search narrowed down to GHG, but the descriptions themselves don't say anything about GHG. I remember last season GHG decoys being all over Wing Supply. Not anymore. Are the ones in the link GHG decoys? Is Banded the parent company of GHG or am I missing something. Anywhere else I should be looking for the best deal on dekes? Lifetime rigs too.

The ghg website now forwards to banded, so not sure what is up with that. I did notice the macks website is still showing a lot of ghg decoys available.

Seems like banded bought out GHG.
I really like G&H decoys, probably the only decoy made in the USA.

GHG are some of my least favortie decoys - the standards or prograde all tend to get cracked or leak at the keels, especially if you texas rig. I would stick with Avian X or Higdon, Dakota makes some decently priced teal decoys if thats what you were after, remember them having a good deal on 24 packs a while ago.
Only thing i will get that is GHG is their full bodies.
You can make your own lifetime rigs and save a few $$ and do custom lengths - decent barrel swivels, aluminum crimps, weights, and PVC coated SS cable. Most expensive thing is normally the weights.

Final approach has some really good looking wigeon and shoveler decoys that are eva plastic. I think they are coming out with other species as well.
I have quite a few GHG dexoys and have never had any issues with them cracking, leaking, or breaking.
Id pass on the lifetime rigs and make your own as mentioned above. Also I've never had an issue with 400lb mono and will continue to use mono over coated cable. Coated cable is not needed in my opinion.

^ I will say it is the GHG pintails and hot buy mallards that have the issues.

Been happy with the GHG that I run. I’m about 50/50 GHG and avian x. The paint on avian x is better but the GHG have been holding up fine for a few years now.

I bought some Avian X a few years back and love them. Still holding up great in form and paint. That said, anyone tried the rubberized decoys that Academy put out? Seem really similar but not quite as sturdy as Avian X.

Me too on the G&H. When I was growing up we made several trips to Henrietta and bought G&H factory seconds.

avian X look good, I have several dozen pintail and gadwall. They are the heaviest decoys I've ever used, so I hope you aren't walking in with them.

I let the sand out the keel and used small fish weights, probably 1oz. Texas rig. They are the lightest deeks, I can carry 2 dozen is nothing. I like them on my momarsh as well.. I hate heavy deeks. I think let the sand out of all my deeks, just some deeks I got heavier weights.

But we had lots of problems where the heads would get knocked off being tossed around in the airboat at the River. And would never fit back in and stay in. We switched to GHG oversized mallards and pintails and have been very happy. Most of our decoys are going on 10 years now and still look great. Now that I have my own private place to hunt, Ive gone to the flocked series GHG makes, and they are sweet!!!! They seem to work a little better than standard decoys.
