Not to compare with the Navy guys, but I did do a year or so flying one man subs in the oil field. Down to around 2000fsw. Got stuck once at 1996' for a few hours. Cool job while it lasted.

I’ll take your word for it but I’m not going to find out I hope  While driving at least I have a fighting chance for air afterwards lol. Those guys have a set of brass balls and I salute everyone of them for what they do. Sadly we don’t hear a lot about sub guys but IMO humble opinion their ranked right thr with the Seals in my book. Unsung heroes of the depths… On a number of occasions we would have a SEAL team with us, they thought we were freaking nuts!

On a couple of occasions we took some Marine Recon guys out with us so that they could "assault" Vieques Island off the coast of Puerto Rico. All that ended when the Navy closed Roosevelt Roads and the environmentalists threw fits over the US Navy shelling and bombing that crummy island. The land crabs were massive in Puerto Rico.
