Not to compare with the Navy guys, but I did do a year or so flying one man subs in the oil field. Down to around 2000fsw. Got stuck once at 1996' for a few hours. Cool job while it lasted.

On a couple of occasions we took some Marine Recon guys out with us so that they could "assault" Vieques Island off the coast of Puerto Rico. All that ended when the Navy closed Roosevelt Roads and the environmentalists threw fits over the US Navy shelling and bombing that crummy island. The land crabs were massive in Puerto Rico.
