My wife and I enjoyed the old mint.

Every time I go to New Orleans I just get the feeling that someone it’s always watching you to figure out how easiest to get money from you. It’s not a comfortable feeling but the food is amazing and that is what brings me back. Also, in general….it’s a [censored] hole.

New Orleans is a dump.

There, I said it.

Alot of hate for the place.

It's well deserved IMO unless you like being drunk, being solicited by homeless people and people at every bar. I go every other year for a conference and if not for that I'd never step foot in the city again.

I don’t know why people go to New Orleans when Las Vegas exists ?

Just did a three day weekend there with my daughter after her graduation from Tarleton. Went for the food and the WW2 museum. The museum was unbelievable, make sure to catch the 4D movie in the theatre.

GW Finn has a great dinner menu, don”t think you’ll be disappointed in any selection.

Luke restaurant is outstanding. Do Not go there first, they set the bar too high for anything you eat anywhere else. The Peruvian scallops are a must, as are the crispy Brussel sprouts. I hate brussel sprouts, but these are astounding. We stayed away from Bourbon Street, and tried 10 different restaurants, and these were the 2 standouts.

Cafe du Monde was cool, they have three locations, stay away from the one in the outlet mall on the riverfront. It’s a little dicey. All three only take cash.

Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

I completely agree with this if you love oysters for sure.
My favorite place there though has to be Deanies.seafood....the one in Metairie by the lake. Probably top 3 of my all time seafood places without a doubt.

WWII museum is amazing

I also love Harrahs Casino but like to gamble.

Paddle boat tour up the river to the old battlegrounds is very cool as well.

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

I liked Felix's Oyster Bar over Acme, they are across the street from each other so it will be easy to try both!

There is so much good food there it really is hard to mess that part up.

Somes say nawlins ain't what it used to be. I say them that say it aren't what they used to be. Going to nawlins retired and with a half crazy Asian GF, Nate wil do fine.

Cochons, the bakery that serves the roast beef and shrimp po boy, Luke's, emerils, Sunday brunch at Commodore Palace, strolling Jackson square, carriage rides, street performers, little places that catch you by surprise and more. Enjoy it. A great setting for a proposal.

If you haven't been in 20 years do you think it may be maybe a little different today?

I've been several times in the last 10 years and enjoyed it each and every time.

It's all about having fun and the fine folks there know how to have it.

fresh oysters may be out of season, so ask if they are fresh , frozen or pasteurized.

A swamp or airboat tour, feed the gators marshmallows'.

Report back on your trip. Haven't been in about 30 years.

From what I see on the TV show "Night Watch" I wont go back.

Have fun

The police chief has declared that he won't arrest people for minor crimes -------- hence in Lakeaire -- a subdivision bordering Lake Pontchartrain --- the people leave their cars with windows down and unlocked so the vandals won't break their windows to get into their cars.

Never been and not too crazy about going. If I did, I would stay like 2 nights, and go for the food.

The best time to roll through Bourbon St if you want to avoid the real crowds is in the morning right after they get done soaping it down.
