I’m a reseller, I buy at auctions and sell on EBay and Facebook Marketplace. I love the business because I sell things that interest me, antiques, military items, vintage and tools. I peruse online auctions most everyday. This week an auction popped up near Houston and it was full of guns and stuff I like. They had a particular pistol listed as a 3rd Generation Colt SAA in 45. I’m a researcher and soon found this was mislabeled and was actually a military issue Colt made in 1890. I won it for a very reasonable price. I’ve always wanted a Colt peacemaker and had no idea this was the week! It’s not a numbers matching gun and it was restored and Nickel plated in the 50’s with some second Gen parts but it’s a stunning gun. It did come with a letter of manufacturing from Colt , shipped April 30, 1890. I took it to an expert SAA Gunsmith in Houston today, Alan Harton and he is going to go through it and make it function like new. I am over the moon excited with this purchase and can’t wait to shoot it. It came with Jigged Bone grips, probably Buffalo. Ain’t she purty!?
