Not in Cabo but close by. I’ve gone with Jacqueline Sportfishing out of San Jose. Gonzalo speaks great English and has done a great job the two times I’ve went out with him.

When we did it, we walked the Cabo harbor and checked out the boats (yachts) the day prior as they were coming in from the fishing. Talked to some of the captains and successful/unsuccessful fishers to get their take on things. "Kicking the Tires" seemed the best way for us and worked when we made our selection for the following day....

Cancun they want $850 to rent the boat, last time I did we trolled and caught barracuda which kinda suxs, but It was 4 of us so I guess they enjoyed it. I not sure if Cancun is the best place to fish

Talked to people coming in from trips. Pretty easy to figure our which ones were on the fish.

I not sure if Cancun is the best place to fish 20 years ago, we split a 35-40' with another couple, 3 deckhands, captain, fuel, bait, sandwiches for lunch and all the softdrinks was $350 per couple or $700 for the boat, out at 8:00AM back at 2:00PM if memory serves me. Sure it's gone up since, probably $800-$1000 I'd guess, it is Cabo. We were trying to catch marlin, sailfish primarily but captain said we could catch shark as well. Wife did catch a 30lb Yellowfin tuna that I had the Westin grille that night, was very tasty...

I went 2-3 times a year from 2005-2015. Always used RedRum and never had a bad trip with them. Boated a 450# class blue marlin in 2009 on my best trip. Had lots of multi-fish days with them from stripes, blues, yellowfin, and dorado. At some point, I am going to get back and chase roosterfish with them. RedRum is owned by some folks with Fort Worth ties.
My parents are headed out with them for three days on July 20.
