Just bought the Switchback XT and had a ripcord rest installed. I love the bow, super quiet. I removed the top bar off of the ripcord because it seemed easier to place the arrow on the rest. I am thinking about putting the bar back on for hunting. Does anyone have any advice or thoughts about the rest without the bar on top.

Also, what is moleskin?

welcome to the forum. i guess you know the bar is to hold you arrow in so it doesnt fall out. i personally would leave it on.

Moleskin is a fuss stuff you put on the riser or rest to help keep it quiet.

I would just leave the top bar on it. I got a ripcord a couple of weeks ago and found that I can just slide the arrow in between the top bar and rest forks if I want. Usually just flip it up on the arrow then go to shooting. This is a great rest. As far as the moleskin goes, I put some around where the arrow sits in the rest forks. Does not even make a sound when drawing now. You can get molesking at any archery shop, academy, or bass pro. Probably have some at wal mart. Moleskin has an adhesive backing so that you can cut and stick a piece where you want it. The other side is fuzzy and is use to quiet arrow racket on your rest and or riser.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I think I will go home tonight and put the bar back on.
