I hunt up in Hall county .Can any one tell me around when the rut start up there? I can never seem to hit it right. It's just not possible for me to go every weekend.

I dont hunt that area but I would find out when the full moon is in November and December. Then I would focus on the 5 day period before and after the full moon during these months.

Where do you hunt in the Hill Country? Typically, the rut is earlier around Kerr and Gillispie Counties than it is here in Menard.
I would also say that in parts of the Hill Country with an extremely high deer population, it is very difficult to decide when and if the rut ever peaks. This is due to nutrition, or a lack thereof. Some does begin cycling the end of Oct and does in the same area will be cycling in Jan. The rut is influenced by the amount of sunlight in a day. Although cool weather, moon and other factors have an impact as well.
