This fella caught my eye from across the yard.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

Bad snake. There’s only good snakes and bad snakes. That’s a bad snake.

Either a bull snake or a rat snake. Pretty sure a bull snake. Good snake.
Did it hiss?

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

At the risk of stepping on the toes of our resident snake lovers I'll ask the question.......did you kill that snake?

Looks like a Columbian Red Tailed Boa. Had one back in the day. They have bad attitudes, and are strong.
They are pretty snakes though.

I'd kill that thing in a heartbeat, the last thing we need as another damn invasive species. The Florida Everglades have been severely impacted by similar snakes.

Somebody's pet that escaped. I'd probably have to kill it unless I knew where it might have come from and could catch it. Don't need another situation like Florida has with the python. Most likely it would quietly end up in at least two pieces if found in my yard.

I would report the sighting to both TPWD and Animal Control in your city (if you have one). People do not want another Florida I'm sure it would get a lot of attention!
for every stereotype there's a prototype don't be the prototype
