This is a loaded question ( I already know the answer...) Just shot four hogs with the .17 Rem and 25 Gr. Hornady HPs..two little ones ( 60 lbs) and two big ones ( bumping 200 lbs) All brain shots ( cause I figure thats the only thing that'll work with the tiny bullets...) all went down as if electrocuted I feel further research is needed.... ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/a2CzHqK.jpg) The little ones... ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/iWRFlSD.jpg)

I've killed a few with my .17 HMR. So fun to shoot.

The 17 HMR is a little light for the full grown ones, but with 20 gr bullets will turn their lites right out!! As for the 17 Rem, 17 Fireball, and 17 Mach IV - Holy Crap, that would be like the Hammer of Thor in your ear!!!
Beer and whiskey, 'cause you can't drink bacon!!

Have a 17 WSM, and a Remington 700 in 17 Fireball. You go from 2550 fps to 3000 fps to 4000 fps. I put a couple hundred rounds through the hmr in a day when i go to east Tx to thin out pond turtles. Shot a few coyotes with it. The thud of the Fireball when placed in the boiler room on a coyote is on another level from the hmr.

I've killed 6 in the last 7 months with a 10/22 shooting CCI standard velocity which are subsonic. Every one dropped like lightning struck it.

17 Remington in a 700 classic is my favorite coyote rifle. It has a tight chamber and the factory loads run 4250fps out of it. Killed a couple hogs with it and one doe all brain shots.
The other 17 in the safe is a 17 Mach II CZ Varmint and it is a lot of fun.

I have the Rem 700 LVSF 17 Rem in the back of the safe somewhere... haven’t shot it in a long while. Can’t say I remember shooting a pig with it just coyotes.

[quote=Blank] I put a couple hundred rounds through the hmr in a day when i go to east Tx to thin out pond turtles. ^^^^^ Its perfect for Red Eared Sliders (Pond Turtles). Deadly accurate out to 100 yds or so on our Farm Pond. I have a solid picnic table set up under an Oak Tree at our 'Fish Pond' and like you, will go through a hundred rounds or more in a sitting at times. A few days later all the dead turtles float to the top and are wind blown against the bank. That's when you can get a good count on how many 'hits' you had. Its amazing how many turtles will amass on a pond in a years time. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2021/06/full-56101-298073-455_g_copy_800x516.jpg)

I've shot a bunch with my 20 Tactical, and if I put the little bullet where it belongs, it's lights out for the piggy.

I don’t see any hogs anywhere close to 200 lbs pictured There is a direct correlation between weight and distance I need to drag them to get them out from under the lights and/or into the truck.... I'm telling you, they were 200 lbs! minimum! ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/t7Y5FsE.jpg)
