Headed out tomorrow and headed to Kansas to turkey hunt being their season runs till the end of May. Anybody have any tips for late season?
This is my first and only chance to Turkey hunt this year.

Ive killed quite a few the last weekend in KS. I would treat them as educated birds. Call little and be patient. I typically dont use decoys late in the season and try to set up where they cant see me until it too late and they are in range
good luck

Figure it’s going to be tough. Hunting public ground, so I’m sure they have been pushed to the limit.

My wife and I doubled up last Saturday in N Kansas. The small parcel we hunted the Toms and Jakes were grouped back up. We didn’t see any hens.Called up 4 longbeards and 3 Jakes. You could tell they were lonely and had been done with the hens for awhile. Only gobbled one time in the tree and not once on the ground until they committed in my direction.

Arrived on a Thursday evening, got camp set up. Wasn’t able to go out and try to roost any birds. Slept in Friday morning and got out in the field around 8, checking this place out. By 10:30, I spotted 2 hens feeding out in the open. Then came across another hen at 11:45 feeding along the edge of a field. She came within 15 yards of me. Covered a lot of ground in 3 days and never heard a gobble. Only Toms I seen were while I was driving around and on private ground. Still had a good time being out there. Never been to Kansas in the spring. Sure is a lot different than the fall. Just need to get up there earlier.
