Im finding myself downsizing everything this year. Normally I was a 12 across the board. Just for simplicity.
After shooting my wifes 20g. a few times last year during duck season, I really liked it. Bought a Benelli M2 20. Cant wait to shoot this gun this year!
Then dropping down to a o/u Ruger Red Label 28g. for dove. Gun has been sitting in my safe for about 10 years. Won it at a CCA banquet.
Anybody else finding their selves down sizing lately?

There is time, and you must take it, to lay your hand on your dog's head as you walk past him lying on the floor or on his settle, time to talk with him, to remember with him, time to please him, time you can't buy back once he's gone" GBE

I may start shooting my “wife’s” Ruger Red Label 28 ga this season. Just concerned about dings, it’s the 50 year anniversary model. My 20ga has been my go to for a long time, not worried about it anymore.

Shot a Winchester Model 12 in 16 ga last dove season and loved it. The gun is 79 years old with a Winchester factory hard rib. Everything I pointed at died. Like you for years I've been a 12 ga guy across the board but rethinking that now.

Only time I pick up a 12 is during crane season. I did buy some loads for my Benelli M2 20 to try on them but haven’t yet. Usually grabbing one of the Browning 20’s for most of my bird hunting but occasionally grab a 16 or the 28.

I picked up a weatherby sa-08 20 gauge for the kids and now it’s my favorite range toy. Probably won’t replace my 12 gauge in the squirrel woods though. My 835 has got some reach.

Shooting the same old 20ga. SxS I've shot since I was 20. It's like an extension of my arm.

When dove hunting, I prefer my .410 until they get shy and start flying 90 mph. Then I step up to the big gun in a 20 ga Wn 101 XTR Lightweight.

I have made the transition to my Ruger Red Label in 20 gauge. My Benelli Super Nova in 12 is still available for geese and crane but I'm pretty much using the Ruger.

I shoot a 12ga 3" shell a whole lot better than a 3.5" shell. Less recoil deffiantly makes follow up shots a who lot easier

My go to bird gun is a Beretta A303 20 gauge sporter...28 inch barrel with Briley extended chokes throws great patterns and is serious dove medicine!

Same here. I started downsizing several years ago and recently downsizing my shotgun "collection" to just a couple of my favorites. I had a Remington 870 express magnum 12 gauge 28" ribbed barrel which was fine for hog/deer hunting from a stand but terribly heavy for dove/quail hunting. I'm in my 50's with slight tendonitis in my elbow. Sold it.
My go-to shotguns now are my 20 gauge 1187 sportsman field w/walnut stock and a 20 gauge 1971 870 Wingmaster that I just got back from getting reblued. Both are excellent field guns that have taken a lot of birds/rabbits.
