Anyone have one? According to my SIL, they allow your family members (and perhaps others you trust) to legally possess and use your Class 3 weapons. Never heard of them before he mentioned it.

Really? I have seen posts on here for years about them. I actually found my lawyer who did all three of mine on this forum. You can add or take off trustees anytime you like just have to have form notarized

Costs?

You can do it yourself. I did my first one myself with a template from Office Depot but decided to get a lawyer on my second one as I wanted to understand some of the details that I was unsure about. James Willi from Austin is who I used and he’s very good and last time I used him it was 250.00 but I am sure it’s higher now. I literally called him on a Monday morning and within a couple hours had all my info emailed and completed. https://www.silencershop.com/blog/post/gun-trust-lawyers-texas-updated

Silencer Shop does them for pretty much nothing when you buy a suppressor.

If you are already in possession of an NFA item you would have to pay another transfer tax to transfer the item to the trust.
The single shot from silencer shop is awfully easy. Wish they were offering their form 1 setup currently.

Thanks for all the feedback.
So I take while the trust allows transfer of the license after the owner dies, it also allows those on the trust to be in possession and use the firearm and/or suppressor while the original license owner is still alive? In other words, it allows for shared use, correct?

What rock have you been hiding under? Member since 2008? This topic has been beat to death numerous times (years) over on THF.
I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect.

My interest was purely a matter or curiosity after my SIL mentioned his interest in getting one for his Class 3 firearms and suppressors. It doesn't bother me at all to appear uninformed about topics that may interest others as well, no matter how many times they may have been discussed in past threads. Had he not mentioned it and I had seen a post concerning the topic, I can assure you I would have seen no reason to click on it.

To be fair to the OP though, things did change around NFA and trusts in 2016 right? Before 41F, trusts were the simplest route. After 41F, trusts are a bit of a pain because grantor and trustees all have to submit fingerprints and photos. I am currently debating whether to stand up a new trust or just apply as individual since my understanding is that CLEO sign-off is no longer required and actually the easier (although maybe not as flexible) route now.

That’s why I have several as I didn’t want to put all family members thru the hassles. I started two new ones with just myself and so I can add who ever I want as Trustees later or for that matter remove as the mood strikes me.

This single shot seems pretty simple. Is the advantage of the NFA Trust the ability to add other users and products?
Can you start with the Single Shot and convert over to the NFA Trust later? It seems more of a hassle, but is it worth it?

As mentioned above, James Willi in Austin texas has the best trust I have seen it is very detailed. He covers everything over the phone with you and in 1 day you can get your trust funded and legit.
