I haven't been on this forum in years ha. Anyway, I was never big into fishing but used to go down to Port A and would hire a guide to take me and my dad out to catch reds, trout, and flounder...ton of fun. My dad passed a couple of years ago and honestly, it's been like 7-8 years...maybe more since we went and I think the guide I used to use is retired. Anyway, fast-forward to now...heading down in June with my daughters ages 11 and 13 and would love to take them bay fishing...probably a half-day is all they would want...hell it's all I'd want. But is it reasonable to be able to take them and not have to spend more than 400-500 total for a half-day? I honestly can't really afford much more. And don't want to waste a guide's time if it's not.

Anyway if it's reasonable to who are some guides you'd recommend. My girls have never done this and I'm not exactly a seasoned fishermen either..we'd just like to be able to catch a few...hopefully enough for a nice dinner or two.

thanks in advance

Capt. Jay Nichols with Just Add Water guide service. He is a fantastic guide and does half day trips.

He is based out of Rockport however he gets my vote every time.

Lots of guides to choose from around here. Capt Phillips is solid and I do recommend.

I wish I still had my boat, I'd take you and your kids out for free. Maybe another day.....

I've used Jamsion Parker and Scott McCune. Scott can be harsh but always limits and more
