Usually I’m grilling steaks, but my wife wants sushi, so I get the easy way out this year.
What you guys got planned for your wives or moms today?

Grilled backstrap (her choice), home style taters, green beans with blueberry/peach cobbler with ice cream. Dang. That’s a win/win if I ever heard of one.

The kids and I made bacon, egg, and cheese biscuits for breakfast. I have chicken and corn on the smoker for lunch. Then we are grilling steaks and veggies for dinner. My wife and all of us are eating good today!
You should have been here yesterday!

Went out for cajun yesterday. Celebrated the whole thing a day early, no way I'm going anywhere near the crowds today

My mom passed 3 years ago and MIL passed in November. My wife is not a mother and just returned from 10 days in the hospital after having major intestinal surgery. I made baked chicken and rice yesterday so I'll be eating on this for the meantime.

Making a full day of it. Starters took the wife (bad pic of her) and MIL (Monster Inlaw) to the Coffee House Cafe for breakfast. MIL had the "Texas Benedict" Scrambled eggs, sausage patties, buttermilk biscuit with sausage gravy and a side of Cheese Grits. Wife had the "Build your own Omelette with Brisket, Avocado, Tomatoes & Mushrooms and a side of Cheesy Hashbrowns. I tried something different "Chilaquiles" it was just okay good kind of sweet and to soft of a texture, next time Migas with Chorizo Tortilla strips, scrambled eggs, spicy tomatillo zucchini salsa, crema, added chorizo. Going to surprise the wife for dinner tonight. Sorry for the poor picture on the garage floor, had to stash the goodies in the garage fridge. Got her a 12 oz Filet/Tenderloin, Key Lime Pie and us a couple of taters for stuffed baked taters. I have some steaks in the freezer so pulled one of the packs out, not sure what cut of meat but what the hay, they will eat.
