I live in Huntsville Tx. I need someone to refinish my Para Lda Colonel 14.45 for a reasonable price. It has a green finish as shown in the link below, and i'd like to have it stripped to bare metal and finished in stainless (or other if necessary). I am looking for a local gunsmith (within 50 miles). If you do work, or know someone who does, please let me know. I have cash in hand, and am looking for quality work. Also, if the finish comes out nice, i'll likely be having other work done on the gun. This is the model of my gun. http://www.impactguns.com/store/SS-13631.html

I had a pistol that I sent off and had a Nitex finish put on it, looked just like stainless steel when I got it back. It never showed any wear either, that stuff is tough.
I had a man send it off to have this done, so I dont know where he sent it to maybe Houston. It was a Mod. 629 S&W 44mag.
Bartender, bring me anything except brake fluid, cause I don't plan on stopping!

well, i found someone to do my refinish. His name is John Fuselier and he lives (and works) in Livingston Tx. He is refinishing my entire gun for $125.
He is putting a matte Nickel finish on my gun (slide, frame, barrel bushing) and putting a black finish on the moving parts (external safeties, sights, and slide stop). He's also replacing the faded white dots on my sights with VERY bright green ones.
I have never (as far as i know) seen a satin nickel finish on a gun, but i hope it looks good, and for the price, it seems like an incredible bargain.
I should have my pistol back by Saturday, so i'll post pics as soon as i have it back... does anyone else have a gun refinished in satin nickel?

He refinished a Kimber 1911 for me some time in the late 90's. he did a real good job with no complaints.

well, the work took longer than i expected, but it's done, and it's beautiful!... i have the pics of it after the work posted here http://www.texashuntingforum.com/forum/u...lone#Post844383i'll post some side by side before and after pics after i get off work (don't have them on my work computer The guy took about 5 days longer than expected, but i don't consider that to be a terrible inconvenience... the finish is fantastic... much better than i expected, and he even cleaned all the internals and reoiled it for me. I'd say it was a bargain at $125

I'm glad to know he does good work. I sent him a Winchester 1906 to be re-blued. (yes I know it kills the value) I have not got it back yet. He has had it over 2 months now. I tried to do it myself and did not like the results so I sent it off to have a professional do it. I hope to get it back one of these days.
