hey guys,havent been on the forum long.I live in Plalestine and used to hunt the type 2 areas around here does anyone know what happened to area 120 on the neches river.why it is no longer available to hunt.there are gates up on all the entrances I used to use.

TP&W changes the land they lease from year to year. Unit 120 was a great place, but it was not renewed by TP&W, but instead leased to a private group. I liked that place too.

good places open to the public dissappear..We found a Type 2 place near austin several years ago that was awesome..Went and found the landowner,and leased it the next year..Went to see the place last year its a subdivision now...

Hey cupcake why dont you read and understand that the place is now a subdivision...The state offered the old man 2 dollars a acre and he wanted more..The place was also trashed after a year of public hunting..Are all public places like that ..NO..but he was tired of it...Now how is that different than any other land that is leased?
