I have a little side business of selling boots that I obtain from various venues. A friend of
Mine suggested I rent a table at a gun show for more exposure. I typically only deal with mid to high price ranged boots.

Have you ever seen a boot vendor at a gun show?

Would you buy a pair of boots from a gun show vendor?

Vendors, do you have to charge taxes on your sales?

Thanks in advance!
Buck

I've looked at your boots on here many of times and they seem pretty well priced for what they are.

I personally do not like gun shows. I've been to several and everytime I tell myself it'll be my last. To me it just seems there is a bunch of Chinese knock off crap and the prices are outrageous.

Maybe back in the good ole days gun shows were a great place to find a deal, but not anymore. I think the cost of renting a booth or table would outweigh the benefit of sales you get.

But to answer your question I'd probably buy a pair of your boots if I saw them at a gun show, but I think you'd have to raise the price a bit to cover the expenses associated with the gun show.

Gun shows are a waste of time.

Are you a business or a hobby? I would think sales tax needs to be collected and paid if you're a business.

Thanks for the input! I haven’t been to many gun shows but it was discouraging to walk around and and see used guns priced as high as new ones.

I don’t see a lot of cost, tables are $60. Only extra cost would be if something I didn’t need followed me home from the show! grin

Forget gun shows, get on the club sport circuit. Pre-COVID, some of the vendor areas at my kids volleyball tournaments could rival the vendor area at the Houston Rodeo. Two and three rows of small clothing/jewelry shops that were doing a very brisk business with a group of people that had lots of disposable income to burn.

Thanks,
Rich

I think the gun show is a good idea. 60 bucks to get your product and business in front of a whole bunch of people is never a bad thing.

Gun show isn't a bad idea.

I would look for conventions that draw a lot of out of state/international attendees here to Texas. Everyone "wants" to be a Texan and there's not a better way than a pair of boots...or so they think.

I'd supplement the boots with belts & cowboy hats too.

That’s a tough choice sit back and watch soccer moms walk by or rednecks? Not much wiggle room in belts and I know zero about hats. I like being able to offer people a different venue rather than the standard boot store that has high overhead. I don’t keep an inventory of sizes, what I have is what I have. Under those conditions I am able to offer boots normally about a 1/3 off store prices. I make a little bit and customers are happy. I enjoy it and don’t want to turn into W O R K

Thanks
