https://prather2022.com/articles/constitutional-carry-referred-to-brand-new-senate-committeeSeemingly overnight, the Texas Senate created a new committee called the Senate Special Committee on Constitutional Issues. Then on Friday morning, they referred House Bill 1927, the constitutional carry bill that passed the House last week, to the committee.

Sending the bill to committee is the political way to let it die a quiet death without bringing it to vote and no record of senators votes.

NRA-ILA invites you to attend our third, statewide virtual town hall meeting, scheduled for this upcoming Monday, April 26, at 7:00pm CST.
HB 1927, the NRA-backed permitless carry bill, has passed the Texas House and is awaiting consideration by the Texas Senate.
With just a little over a month left in session, we need to keep the momentum going on this critical issue! Find out how you can help ensure that this measure passes the Texas Senate and that the Lone Star State becomes the 21st constitutional carry state.
When: Monday, April 26 at 7PM CST
I'll be there, too and I hope y'all will take a moment and attend!

I just read the Texas Republican Party Monday message from LtCol. Allen West. It appears that Lt. Governor Dan Patrick is the biggest obstacle in getting this passed.

I called Patrick’s office on Friday along with 6 other GOP Senators to express my support of the bill. Seliger’s office was the only one that I didn’t actually speak to a representative but left a voicemail message.

We need to put some pressure on Dan Patrick. This bill rests squarely on his shoulders.

More states advance permitless carry bills. Already in 2020, four states have passed laws allowing gun owners to carry firearms in public without a permit. Now that number looks set to increase. In Louisiana, a permitless carry proposal advanced through the Senate and passed a House committee on Wednesday. In Alabama, a House committee approved permitless carry legislation. And on Thursday in Texas, where permitless carry has already passed the House, a Senate committee heard from more than 100 people who testified for and against the bill. “I don't have a problem with people having guns,” said one firearms instructor who testified against the bill. “I just need to have them trained and educated. So I asked you to not fix what's not broken.” After 10 hours of testimony, the committee passed the bill. Republican Governor Greg Abbott recently said he plans to sign it if it reaches his desk.

That firearms instructor is just looking out for himself and his wallet. He needs to shut his mouth. The 2nd Amendment says nothing about going to the range and having a guy dressed in the latest shooting fashions train you.

All those firearms instructors that are in opposition are only whining because it's going to hit them in the pocket book.

All those firearms instructors that are in opposition are only whining because it's going to hit them in the pocket book. If they had any sense they would realize how much more income to be made from everyone wanting a place to shoot instead of a few. Selfish hypocrites.
