Bring money! Pretty place at the Zion National Park. We’ll be here one more day. This looks like the place to be for hiking (we did a bit) and rock climbing (not a chance). If you ever plan to come here, I think summer and the peak season is the time to avoid. It’s really busy and crowded even now. Parking, other than at your hotel, is quite expensive and very hard to find.

There were a couple of guys way up on a sheer rock face. Maybe 300 or 400 feet up at least. Nuts!

Off to Moab tomorrow.

Wife is having a great time. I’d just as soon head back to Texas. Seen enough rocks and mountains for a lifetime.

Might stop at Alsups on the way home.

Zion is stupid crowded all the time. Especially since it is a park you really only have hiking trails on. They need to crank the entry fee up about 3x the amount to thin the crowds in National Parks IMO

I lied about Moab. We’re at Bryce Canyon now. This is a much better park than Zion, with a lot more things to do. The downside, if you consider it one, is that fancy food options are at Springdale. Good food here, it not fancy. I had a filet in Springdale last night, at the Spotted Dog Cafe. It was in the top 5 of steaks I’ve ever had. The top 5 are:

Commander’s Palace in NO
Ruth Chris on North Broad in NO
Le Ruth’s on the West Bank in NO (closed years ago)
Spotted Dog
Pappas in Houston

Rejected are top steakhouses in NYC, Chicago, and San Francisco. Also rejected are high dollar steakhouses in Brazil and Guatemala City, since they use Brazilian grass fed beef. They brag on it, but it’s tough to chew in my experience.
