Sierra #9362C

62 gr Spire Point Boat Tail

They still made those as of last year, when I bought some. Is that close enough?

Good luck finding the 65 gr GKs. I mentioned that my back order was cancelled. I was able, a couple of month ago, to get 300 63 gr Sierra SMPs, and I have some 64 gr Nosler BSB’s, so I have bullets, though not my preferred ones.

I suppose the best approach is to get on a back order or two. I probably got cancelled due to price on my back order being too low now. I assume that prices will be ‘adjusted’.

Yes sir thank you for the info but their gonna be used for hunting and I’ve never used a match king for hunting and I don’t know if they would stabilize in my twist barrel, I’ll call Sierra later today and see what they tell me. Thank you for looking out for me

Those aren’t match. They’re Gamekings with a plastic tip

Maybe they will discontinue the 65 gr GK and replace it with the 64 gr GC.

In plastic tipped bullets use the jacket length when checking for twist rate calculations, the plastic tip they say ca be ignored fro the length of bullet measurement

Remembering when Nosler dropped the Solid Base Boat Tail bullets for the Ballistic Tips? It could be that Sierra is working toward the same thing. Of course, a call to Sierra would probably clear this up, if somebody wants to make the call.

I’d probably be perfectly happy with the 64 gr GC, but I’m already perfectly happy with the 65 gr GK.

Sierra is a good company. I’ve called them a few times. Their techs are good to talk to

I called Sierra tech department today and I asked about the 64gr tipped game king vs the non tipped 65gr, he didn’t have any technical information (as far as length or reviews) on the 64gr cause it is too new and no specs. are posted for him to relate to us but he didn’t mention anything about dropping the 65 and putting the 64 in it’s place

It's too new?

Hogwash. An engineer designed it before it was made. Engineering has not shared their drawings, with measurements to the technical support department.

I hate excuses, especially bs ones.

Lordy I hope not. The 65 SGK is a fantastic multi-purpose bullet.

I hope not too! I have a partial block of prepped cases with powder sitting in them, waiting on this particular bullet... for months. This bullet shoots particularly well in my 223. On Game performance up to whitetails has been excellent.

Myself included in that. I use them for hog hunting, and their performance on pigs is so good I would consider them for deer hunting in a pinch. Luckily I'm still sitting on a couple hundred of them, but will buy more when I see them available because they work so well.
