Over the weekend, I went with one of the guys on my lease to fill feeders and hoping to get some turkeys on the ground. We were unsuccessful at killing any birds, but we did stumble across a caveman's lair. The landowner told us that a guy was living in one of the rock formations at some point, but that's as far as the conversation went. It looked like the guy hadn't been there in a while but still a strange sight to see. We are in west Texas and nowhere near the border, so I don't think that would explain the homestead, but who knows.

It was his own version of Walden Pond.

Somebody's probably lived there, on and off, for centuries. Very cool find (minus the trash). LO must not have been too talkative. Did you have a gut feeling that the LO knew what happened to the guy?

There's bodies on just about every property. It's only a matter of how long they've been there and how they got there. Very few could afford grave markers, back in the day.

I think it was so he had a place to put his legs and feet so he could sit up like in a chair and look out.
