I've always liked Cracker Barrel or breakfast. Great pancakes and real maple syrup.
One of my son’s favorites. He always asks for extra little bottles of their syrup.

Going to Waffle House in the morning. Choosing it over Cracker Barrel.

They are good, they just don't add much salt to the food, so you got to add your own from the shaker.

I've only been a couple of times in Houston, and the food and service was good.
Not much of a complainer.
Chicken Fried Steak/eggs/sausage was good.
Some folks just like to complain.
I like to eat. Exactly. No issues with the place here. Breakfast is good, chicken and dumplings is good, corn bread is good, greens are good, the little store sells valo milk candy. Pretty solid chain.

."Legend has it that during lunch interviews, Henry Ford would observe if a candidate put salt on their food before tasting it. If they did, they wouldn't get the job. Why? According to him, this simple act reveals that the candidate is a poor decision maker and doesn't evaluate situations before taking action"

The thing I like about CB is that, when we're traveling, we know we can always get a good breakfast there. Eating out on when on the road can be a real "adventure," even amongst the chains, so a NFS (No Freakin' Surprises) eating place is golden, imho.

Not recently, but I’ve had their ribeye several times and it was surprisingly good for a none-steak place.
