Need a good one since this isn't supermarket 1911 or Glock that can be YouTubed. Have issue with hand assembly or hammer and not rotating fully in single action. That is not a good thing when bullet meets barrel from cylinder! Any suggestions since this is my baby and not one of the new improved versions, I feel same way about the new S&W's when they went away from pinned barrels and recessed cylinders! So suggestions from the group would be great.

Smith Gun Shop in San Angelo. He's good in regards to timing on old Colts. He's slow, and not cheap. However he's worked on several old Colt's fo me and done great work.

I assume its an old Python, not a new model? Correct sir. I have had this revolver for over 30 years. They used to say the difference between the Python and the Trooper was same as needle and thread verses a Singer sewing machine! You can feel the difference when you [censored] the hammer on one. Will look into the suggestions given.

Recently had Jessie Smith re-time a Colt Cobra I bought off the forum. Gun wouldn't lock up. It came back working like new. Check his website. smithgun.com

Since Fred Sadowski (of 300 Gunsmith Service) and Reeves Jungkind have both gone to their rewards, I'm not sure who I'd reach out to (my last Python action job was by Sadowski which will suggest how long ago that was).
I will tell you this: I got Frank Glenn to resurrect my shot-to-tatters '70s vintage Gold Cup a few years ago and he did a masterful job. With Frank, I'd expect two things: first, if he takes the job it'll be wonderful. Second, if he doesn't feel he can do the action justice, he'll tell you that upfront.
Good luck either way!

Got the Python back! Glennscustoms has it working like a Rolex! Price and turn around of job was fantastic and it feels like a Pyhton should when you thumb hammer back or squeeze the trigger! I recommend his work!

Just a bit of add on to this search for entertainment. When I went to gun shop to pick it up the employee was a big question mark! He was looking at it and asked if it was new or old Python...most folks can look at old verses new model guns and tell differences! Next the poor guy was writing down pistol info and noticed he was rolling it around looking for something, I asked serial number? He said yeah where they at! Told him open cylinder and look at crane. He fumbled with cylinder release and finally handed it to me...this is gun shop where they deal with new guns of quality design...and employee was lost on this operation. Then I explained to him when closing revolver cylinders to actuate the cylinder release and is is easier and keeps wear down on parts, and gave some pointers on charging semis ( don't drop round in chamber and let slide slam shut, let it cycle round from mag preferred). He said really he didn't know, and they guy really didn't know what I mentioned to him. So maybe it will save some wear on firearms down the road. Still happy I got my toy back home in the safe
