i was wondering why some hunters need camo to hunt. they have camo this and camo that, do you think we as hunter really need that. i personaly dont think we need camo to hunt , just like some states have the saftey orange vest that must be wornen. it doesnt seem to hunrt the people hunting with the vest on. also i do belive you do need some kind of breakup to help with your body figure, unless you in a blind looking through the window. well what do yall think camo is a must or dont need it?

depends on what ur hunting 100%, deer. no u dont need it. ive snuck up, and very very close to deer wearing a plain t shirt. and jeans. but cammo does seem to help. especially when u get something over ur face. now if ur hunting yotes. ya u need it, they will see ur arse. or if u are hunting crows, if u dont have cammo, u might as well sit at home. and i assume its the same way for ducks. now for hogs, u could go out in a neon suit with 3 flags tied onto u wavin in the wind and sneak up on em!

Is it 100% necessary, no probably not. But I still wear it and so do most of you in one form or another. I just like it. As silly as that sounds its probably the reason yall wear it also. Quiet, warm, useful clothing can be had in any color, but we choose camo. It completes the atmosphere of the hunt. My buddies and I just discussed this the other day. My .02

No, you don't need camo, IMO.
Kinda like a toilet paper holder in your bathroom, it makes it a little easier, but not a must.

best camo on the market... Tan Carhart Jacket

Will the Dickies or Walls knock-offs still work?
I've hunted in shorts, wife beater shirt, and flip flops. Do I think camo is necessary...no.
But I still wear it most of the time.

I think it helps, but not totally necessary. Most hunters wear it at least sometimes when they feel like it. In one of those Calling All Coyote DVDs, Randy Anderson called up several predators wearing a traditional red and white santa suit, cap and all, so who really knows.

NO, but like the toilet paper analogy, air conditioning isn't necessary either....
For the box blind hunters, myself, or a guided hunt, we want the person in decent camo, here's why... in and out, may need to hide somewhere other than the blind, no reason to waste a chance in a pink wife beater and jorts...
Also tracking/stalking a wounded animal, need every advantage you can get.
Even if I am planning on hunting a box blind by myself, I'll at least have coveralls handy on the four wheeler or in the truck close, in case something changes, but I prefer camo.
Gander Mountain in Sherman has a ton of camo on sale, I bought scent lok mossy oak pants and shirt, for $51...

I guess you don't have to. I didn't for a lot of years, but do now. It helps. BUT, when I do ballet, I'm darn sure gonna wear my tutu.

I always wear camo. Figure I could "need" it walking to/from the stand.

My camo is warmer than jeans, and I can't stand being cold.

I dont know why they make camo long johns?! But outer wear, well it's a guy thing. We think it looks cool, its like a union or club to wear camo. As for hunting, I agree with most here. Birds for sure, deer maybe if your stalking, and for hogs..naaa. But we all look cool when we do, atleast we think so. And confidence is sexy!!
