So glad to hear you are improving. Crazy, my knees hurt when I stand up. Last a couple seconds then all seems to work.

Knee DR yesterday - removed the aquacell covering. Incision completely healed, looks great. X-rays perfect. No sign of infection, little swelling. Knee has been killing me at night for a week so he put me on Gabapentin. Don't know it it was the new meds or just removing the covering but I only woke up once (to pee) last night. Start back with PT on Friday. Infection DR says I may get my pick line removed Tuesday. Oh happy days!

Gabapentin doesn't seem to work that good for me. I take it for nerve pain extending from my spinal stenosis.

I mean none. Only other time I've ever had it was in the hospital. I'm not convinced it's helping the pain but I know I'm sleeping better. He only gave me two weeks worth. I have no intentions of long-term use.

Started back with PT last Friday. They flat wore me out. Have 15 sessions approved. Pick line was removed today. A lot less trouble coming out than going in! Still no lifting or shooting for the next 10 days...UGH. Wife is watching me like a hawk. Will be on oral antibiotics for a full year. Regularly scheduled blood tests. At that point they'll decide if I'm done.

You've improved a lot from where you once were. Just keep on with the program and it oughtta work out.
Antibiotics for a year is a new one on me. Same med or will it be a rotation of meds?

But I am no doctor so I am sure they know what they are doing. Just glad you are improving and healing.

Infections that set in after an orthopedic procedure tend to be hard to treat. A year seems excessive but after some of the stories I've heard understandable.
for every stereotype there's a prototype don't be the prototype
