Wife wanted to get away this weekend so we are headed down to San Antonio with the dogs. We didn't realize the women's NCAA tournament was there this weekend so I'm sure it will be crowded.

I was like 5 the last time I've been there so I don't know anything about the town.

Any good patios along the river walk (dog friendly) with good eats?

I would walk the river walk all the way down to the old Pearl Brewery. There are plenty of places down there or along the way to eat.

Love The River Walk.

Quail hunting is like walking into, and out of a beautiful painting all day long. Gene Hill

I won’t step foot in a food establishment that allows animals.

Casa Rio.

X2, historic restaurant from 1950s/60s, great views and pretty tasty food. If you go to plaza Mercado, check out La Margaritas. Great food and margaritas too.

Not sure if non-service pets are allowed on River Walk, may want to check that.

Mi Terra > La Margarita and Casa Rio and it's not even close.

Not somewhere I'd want to deal with a dog(s) but good luck and have a good weekend.

Forgot...Boudreaux on the river walk has a killer blackened prime rib and anything else I've tried there has been good too.

Love dogs, but not at dinner. Daddy used to always make me feed Fritz outside.

Back in the early 1990's I was dating a girl whose birthday was in mid January. One year I surprised her and flew us down to San Antonio for a weekend for her birthday. When we got to the hotel we were supposed to have a room with a nice river view. Unbeknownst to us it was Mudfest.
Every year in January when things are slow they drain the river and pickup all the trash in the bed. When they drain it the riverwalk doesn't really look, or even smell, that great but the City and the businesses along the riverwalk turned a lemon into lemonade and created a themed party weekend called Mudfest. most of the restaurants and bars had Mudfest specials. Turned out to be a lot of fun.

Don't know if they still do that.

I have and I agree...it's hard to go wrong with Boudreaux.

Cochise, I grew up there and go visit mom and dad often. There are a lot of good places downtown, not necessarily on the river walk. Also, lots of great restaurants across the city. If you want message me and I can probably recommend a place for whatever food your looking for.

Yep. I called on the pharmacy division of HEB and never ate near the River Walk.

That's stupid. If you want to people watch its the place to be. The rest of town isn't much to see.

Come to New Braunfels. Lots of places to eat and no downtown bustle.
