I'd never used GB but decided to recently to buy a S&W 442. I bid on quite a few I didn't win but finally won one. I pay w/in 10 minutes of winning, send FFL info & do everything on my end w/in 1 hour of winning. Seller shows the gun shipped the next day & send tracking. I check tracking later in the day & it says the shipemnt was cancelled. I contact the seller & ask why. Their response is "we accidentally sold the gun in our retail store. A new guy didn't know it was on GB. Sorry. Here's a refund". I look on GB & this same company has the exact same gun for sale w/3 days left but they sold the only one they have? WTF?!? I notify GB, give the info including the ad they still had going & their response is "we can't make the seller ship an item. Let us know if they give you a bad review". WTF is the point in bidding if the seller can back out, w/zero repercussions, on items they sell? GB sucks!

In GB's selling rules, it clearly states "we will cancel accounts of sellers that don't follow thru with a winning bidder". These people clearly didn't & GB won't do [censored] about it.

"If you would like to make the item available in your retail store, the item should be taken off the retail shelf once it has received a valid bid. Many successful store owners place their online items in a special display case and require any in store customers to bid on the items. To ensure the fairness of all our auctions, we terminate the accounts of sellers who fail to complete transactions."

Sorry to hear this.
It's disappointing that in this situationGB doesn't do a better job in enforcing their rules.
How are the reviews of the seller?

FYI I have bough a couple of guns from GB and didn't have any issues.

They have an A+ rating w/over 9500 sales. GB won't kick them off because they'd lose money. They have done this over 20 times throughout the years, though.

That’s retarded, sellers like those are [censored]. Leave a bad review if you can.

The dealer will continue to do this to people until they are outed and start losing business because of it.

The dealer still had to pay the final value auction fee so I don’t see the benefit of re-listing the gun. They are not going to get that much for it. Leave feedback and move on.

Tried that with an O/U recently because he had It on like 10+day auction and I was impatient. Seller was not interested. Lol.

Did you leave negative feedback and did it get published?

This explains everything.

I have used GB a few times but only on guns that were not readily available elsewhere. I have never had an issue.

I have used GB on a few occasions. Honestly, I have had nothing but positive experiences. Every time, I had contacted the seller directly and have been able to buy it that way. Works great for both seller and buyer.

Sorry this happened to you.

I've had good luck buying and selling on gunbroker until just now. Listed an item last week and got a couple offers on the item. Selected and offer and contacted the buyer. Had decent communication up to the point where I told him how much the total was and what my PayPal info was. Then there was radio silence through the weekend until today when he emailed and said he couldn't afford it.... I get that things happen money wise but this guy was adamant about fast shipping and wanting my PayPal info to pay me quickly until he had that info.... now I'm going to incur the fees when I cancel and have to relist the item....

You should be able to get a refund on your fees for a non paying bidder/buyer.
