I am in the market for a new boat. My 12 ft longtail lost a fight with a big rig and this presents the opportunity to get something bigger for the family. I want something I can fish, duck hunt, and pull the kids around with on the lake. I have seen several of the aluminum pro 17's with mod v hull and they look like they might fit the bill, but I have never been in one.
As far as for ducks... how skinny can they run?
Anything else I should put on the radar?

In your title you mention "Tracker."
I own a 1648 Grizzly tracker. Love it. Not for sale. I recommend them. They sell them on I35 South just south of Ft Worth, but those are usually all rigged out. Which you might want. Mine is the bare bones model. Go anywhere. Tough.

Good to know about the 1648 grizzly tracker. They look pretty slick. I don't need super rigged out..a trolling motor, nav lights, and depth finder are all things I would like. Thanks

depends on your budget but take a hard look at boatright if you want a quality shallow water aluminum boat.

I use to own a Tracker Grizzly 1654 SC with a 60/40 Mercury jet drive. I primarily fished a shallow river and would run full speed in less than 1 ft of water. It would easily drift in 6 inches with 2 adults in the boat. I currently have the 1860 Grizzly CC. Absolutely love it. I haven’t duck hunted in years but it would make a great duck boat.

You should talk to tdogg, he has a seaark v hull outboard with a jack plate, and he goes everywhere in that boat. He will go slow thru the stumps, but he makes up for it on big water. He has made me want to get an outboard.

Thanks I have a 2015 1754 SC Grizzly Tracker with a 55 lbs 24 volt minn kota edge, 60 hp mercury 4 stroke, humminbird 997 w/ SI on console and cheap lowrance old school 2D depth finder at the front. I'd be willing to part with this boat for $12k. It's a tank. I've done everything you've mentioned in it.
