Is there such a thing as a hunting, guard or herding cat?

Dog guy here but will say I really like my outdoor cats.

Dogs are definitely smarter

Cats are easier to take care of and way less maintenance if left outside.

If we go on a trip we just make sure we leave extra food out for the cats. If they run out they'll find their own food.

I'm a dog guy, but my wife brought home a stray young cat that hunts down and kills scorpions in the house. He flattens them, then lets you know it needs to be removed. That was big deal when I lived down in Bastrop County. First cat that I've liked.

A Democracy is when two wolves and a lamb vote on the dinner menu. That is why this country was specifically not designed as a Democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic.

Have you ever heard anyone say " I've got the best dog, he acts just like a cat".

My wife always said of our cat - "If it moves, she's got to have it"

Love dogs. Never no use for a cat especially domesticated cats. They thrill kill. At the ranch there was a couple that hang around the barn. Saw one take down a quail...now there’s one cat left.

Both serve a much needed purpose where I live. Cat's keep all the little 4 legged and no legged critter away from the house and the dogs keep away all the two legged ones. Which is smarter I'm not sure, you have to teach a dog, cats on the other hand already know it all, just ask them.

Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

You own a dog.
A cat owns you.

A dog thinks, this human loves me, gives me a place to live, and feeds me. This human must be God.

A cat thinks, this human loves me, gives me a place to live, and feeds me. I must be God.

If a dog could text you. "What are you doing? When will you be home? Why didn't you take me with you? I miss you. I want to go with you next time."

If a cat could text you. They wouldn't.

I like them both. Both serve their purposes.

Cats have a place.
I got my daughter one for Christmas when she was seven. It was an outside cat. We have owls, hawks, yotes, bobcats, et al.
She out smarted them all for 22 years.

Little girls love kittens.

Im a dog person. Love my dog and she has been great as have all the past ones.

That said I whole heartedly believe that cats are 100% smarter more calculating and more self sufficient than dogs any day of the week.

I've owned both but only one cat and was female. She was fixed and preferred staying outside.
She would hunt and bring her kills back to the front porch and only eat the heads off of them.
I'm a dog lover and have no plans to own anything else.
I will say that I've never smelt a dog that smells like tom cat piss sick

Very few chihuahuas running around loose around here. Coyotes like eating them for a afternoon snack.

If you die in your house and nobody knows, after a few days or so your cat will start eating you. I've never seen a dog do that.

My dog's name was King. My cat's name is Turdhead. Do I need to say more?
