I thought this was a pretty cool video. My dad was a home builder/carpenter and I helped him when I was growing up in the 60`s and 70`s. All of these tools in this video reminds me of the tools he used every day to put food on the table. I still have his framing hammer, tape measure, framing and combination square and his SKILSAW.

Neat, but I love the new stuff now on the market.

I found a stored Water level we used on ceiling installations 50 yrs ago ( were a bit-- in freezing weather)

A bit ot hummor here,

Was on a scaffold hanging systems for a suspended ceiling, my Dad, on the floor, yelled, "Throw me your hammer", thinking he wanted to see my new Blue Grass I pitched it to him, he instantly sawed half the handle offf, saying " If your not using it, get rid of it" Not funny then, but now is.

I am not a carpenter by trade but I do a lot of remodeling and over the last few years a lot of woodworking. I love the old planes chisels and other woodworking tools. on occasion I will find a real bargain at a pawn shop. I recently bought three vintage Stanley planes that were in excellent condition for 20 bucks out the door it was a steal. I am constantly on the hunt for old USA made chisels they are hard to come by these days. The USA made Buck Brothers chisels at Home Depot are really good for the price.

Yes, I have an entire tool box just dedicated to mine and Dad's old tools. Hand planes, chisels, brace and bits, quality hand saws and back saws, leather working awls/needles/palm pads/punches, spirit levels, etc. I love old stuff!!

My dad was a carpenter and I have his tools from the 50's. My wife's grandfather was a fine furniture maker. We have his tools and I don't know what most of them are. Interesting stuff!
