Not bad! I would do away with the sharp point at the finger guard and round them off a little more...other than that, just keep practicing and you'll refine them as you go. Try and make each one better than the last!

Try and make each one better than the last! what Ben said you mostly won't get exactly this or exactly that,, knife making is very subjective, something that looks good to one person,, may not be what someone else likes, ,, so don't get too twisted up about it,, but do get worked up about refining your skill set,,, look at other people's knives that you like,, what is it about their knives that appeals to you and what are things that you think need more refinement and the last thing i'll say about it,,, try not to get too addicted to it,, knife making is a good way to go broke in a fast hurry,,,,, LOL i heard a joke,, i'll try to put the jist of it here,,, "" how do you become a millionare making knives???,,,,,, start with 2 million""" LOL IMHO,,,, YMMV

I agree with Shane. You can make a small fortune making knives but it may take a large fortune to do it. Just keep making them and never offer one for sale that you wouldn't be proud to carry yourself. Always be honest about your knives and processes. Nothing worse to me than someone claiming their knives are customs when in fact the are using blades that they bought and didn't actually make. Just keep doing what you are doing. Your blades are obviously hand made and I give you credit for them. Just keep refining your work as you go.

What everyone ready said, but the heart and soul of any knife is the heat treat bro... not knowing what you are doing for heat treat it's hard to comment on it... The next thing I would recommend is to test, test, test your blades. There's more to heat treating a blade than just get it to critical temp and quench.
It is addicting and you're off to a good start. Looking good.

Jank is right as usual, rasp knives can be hit or miss. Keep refining your heat treating until you can nail it repeatedly.
I see some awkward pin placements. IMO, shoot for the center of the handle (from top to bottom), and place your pins equal distance from the ends of the scales. If you miss a little because of the rasp texture, try drilling from the line side not the triangle side.
I see intentionally convexed edges, which is fine, but take them even thinner before sharpening. They'll cut better that way.
Darn good start, and wise to ask for advice.

400-600 grit wet sandpaper, hand sanded slathered with oil, will smooth out the finish on some of those blades. I have actually found some wood that must have an oil sanded finish or they are streaky in some weird way, a batch of walnut burl was one of them. I always use a mix of 70% teak and 30% tung oil. Nice work though and keep it up!

Thanks for the advise criticism and kind words. I implemented some of the advise while in the middle of working this one that I just finished. I did mess up on the handle as the inside and outside of the blanks had a different finish and I didn’t flip flop them whoops. That’s why one is clear and the other is not. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2021/03/full-34210-284026-d77ac613_41a5_4dc4_9433_18a662a62862.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2021/03/full-34210-284027-dfa34447_d26e_4869_88aa_3f7db827b668.jpeg)
