When I joined the Marines, I had to go to the Reserve Unit headquarters in New Orleans to get sworn in. On the wall, in USMC colors, was a sign that said “Join the Marines, travel to far distant lands, meet strange and unusual people, and kill them”. I guess things have changed.

I retired in 92 they just took the rubber out of the fire hoses for WOG DAY azz whooping and they introduced Don't ask don't tell.. I guess Not in My NAVY stands for anything anymore.

Served from 75-79 and I'm a Shellback also. Things have changed not for the better, sad.
