Another thing that is and will be hard to find for the ranchers right now is feed for there livestock. Feed mills shut down for no electricity. Cattle cubes and sweet feed hard to find. Rancher down the road from my old place we sold over La Grange way , told me He's been looking the last couple days. Didn't plan ahead and asked me if I had some. Always bought in by the ton but Not now and have Just enough for these 2 lawn mowers we have here. Called around and none available. Will try again tomorrow for him. [Linked Image]

To all those guys who hate truckers, this is what your world would look like everyday if we stop rolling.

Pretty much where we sit. As long as I can keep meat cold we have enough canned goods and dehydrated food to last months but we always do. If people didn’t learn after the covid ridiculousness I’m not sure what will make people realize the need to self prepare for bad times.

Went to the HEB in Kerrville yesterday afternoon. Might as well have stayed home. It was cleaned out.

It is going to take awhile to get the stores resupplied as there just isn’t the extra capacity in distribution to restock all stores impacted all at once. Bread, milk and DSD products will get back in stock first, dry grocery and perishables will take longer. Just in time delivery wasn’t developed to handle these types of peaks in demand.
Add in everyone that lost their freezer and refrigerator contents and there is going to be greater demand than supply for a couple weeks at least.

Should get better by next week, those hills pose a real problem for drivers. They should be stocking them in the next couple of days. Although this winter mix we are getting now isn't gonna help any.

I am a pre-hoarder. I only went to the store once, to get milk.

Just got Back from my first treasure hunt. The roads were clear. There was a line outside of Walmart so I continued on up to HEB. They were pretty well stocked with everything on my list but not necessarily in my brand and size. Funny thing. I needed some mushrooms. I asked a stocker who had an accent. He pointed out the restroom. Get it? I'm not making this up. I have the mushrooms to prove it. I punched approve purchase and boogied home.

Bill white truck. I never replied to the battery thread and can't . My truck had set idle for over 10 days and stared with the key. It was mostly downhill this morning with only a few bumps in the road.

Good deal, San Antonio is still screwed, we just got another 2+ inches of snow. I'm gonna go volunteer at my local Grocery Store.

I was fully stocked on eggs but those who have laying hens could make a fortune on egg money.

Sports Clip was closed. Guess I will have to go around wearing my hair like Norml.

I remind myself of this man every time I start feeling sorry about shortages until I read this.
