I like the fact that they pointed this out in the article. "Last year it supplied 23% and overtook coal as the system's second-largest source of energy after natural gas" and why did it take over Coal??? Because Obummer shut down all the coal fired power plants...Duh!

I hope people remember this when the libs hammer on green energy and reducing fossil fuel sources for power. Nuclear is likely the best option for reliable power.

Those turbines have sensors and are remotely operated. They are programmed to shut down in high winds and ice to mitigate any damage to the rotor and blades. I don't have the latest chart in front of me but IIRC, wind and solar make up over 10% of TX power supply. Part of the reason we are having rolling blackouts is that portion of energy isn't available right now. Solar battery farms are depleted as the panels aren't producing due to snow cover. We will always need O&G, renewables are just an alternative.

I was wondering why the ones south of Jacksboro weren’t turning when I was out there Saturday.. It was blowing 25+ all afternoon.
I really hate to do what I am about to do, because it will be very painful for you.
