Big hog is 50% of entry fee or $100. Big Cutter is part of a 50/50 or something. No one will be buying a Bitcoin or a Dogecoin with their winnings. smile

The contest entry says first place is 50% of ALL entry fees which could be as much as 410 teams with up to 4 members at $100 dollars apiece. That totals $164,000 in entry fees. Not every team may have 4 members so likely the fee totals are less but it could still easily equal to a $56,000 first prize. Last years first prize according to the site was over $30,000.

Ringtail, thanks for a thorough answer. I have no interest in entering but I just peruse through this forum and often ask questions almost entirely out of curiosity. I dont know how common these contests are but I think its a great idea. I dont think you can ever slow em down too much but anything helps and if guys have fun doing it.........

There was a guy on a Facebook group offering 5k to anyone who had a hog he could kill that would win the contest.

That’s got to be against the rules

So clearly I misread the prize calculation...

2020 Totals https://thehuntinggame.com/2020-wise-county-hog-contest-final-results/

$30k for Big Hog
$4k for Big Cutter

I think somebody's got their foot on the scale. That doesn't look like a 342# hog.

It’s tricky

I shot a 249 and had a few guesses in the upper 290’s to mid 300

The only thing I can tell you is that a big pig starts at shoulders, stays thick and has an [censored]

My 249 had shoulders, got thin, had no [censored]

30-50 lbs can sneak up on you

What's funny is that you had to go back and edit it.

As with anything... Whitetails, coyote contests, bass tournaments, and now hog contests...

As the jackpots go upward, so does the cheating.

The guy that posted that on FB needs DQ'ed. (Bet they have a rule against that next year.)

If you win by cheating, you are still a loser.... Just look at Biden. wink
