If you were going to rebarrel a 22-250, what caliber would you pick? WT deer and pigs would be the main target species. What would you pick?

How long of a barrel do you like? 243-338 federal would work.

7mm-08 for practicality. If you want to be different maybe a 250-3000 savage or 257 Roberts

6x47, 6.5x47 maybe a 6 creed, or a 6BRX with a 8 twist Brux or Krieger 4 groove barrel 25” long with a ec tuner brake.
I’d get something that’s not main stream so you can actually find the brass for it and buy 2-400 pieces so you have plenty to smoke the barrel with. 6mm bullets are cheaper than 6.5, or 7mm, and definitely 30 cal.

308, it was good at everything before any other caliber was good at everything. KR Pretty much summed it up. Plus it’s always been one of the easiest rounds to load for. Basically 42-45 grains of Varget and pic your projectile from 150gr to 180gr.

308, it was good at everything before any other caliber was good at everything. Except shooting far with a cross wind. That makes it lose the "everything" part.

375 H&H just because. A 308 makes a good deer / hog round but so do many others, I really like the 7-08.

I would pick 284 Winchester over AI version 08 just not to have to form brass

I would pick 284 Winchester over AI version 08 just not to have to form brass A straight 284 is a lot faster too, also lapua now makes straight 284 brass..

A fast 6mm with a 7.5" twist. Other than 243, 6CM has the most common brass and dies sets available.

I just got my 7-08 Remage barrel in from Northland Shooters supply. This type of barrel swap is really pretty easy and if you change your mind the Savage style nut makes a caliber change really really simple. Price is not bad at all and Northland had my barrel to me in less than a week.

22cm (fast twist for heavies) or 6cm would be my top two choices. Low recoil, excellent accuracy, common availability of loading components, flat shooting.
Whats not to like? Honestly, there are lots of options and valid arguments from most all of them. Find one you like that fits your needs and roll with it. WT and pigs aren't hard to kill.
Are you going to pull those pistols, or whistle Dixie?

25 Souper, don't have one but it's on the bucket list.
