Removed faucet covers this morning to make sure they weren't frozen. All is well.

It's a little late at this stage of things, but consider replacing your outside faucets with freeze-proof ones, if you can. Woodford Mfg. makes freeze-proof anti-siphon ones from 4" all the way to about 18-24". The actual shutoff is inside the wall, house, or foundation where it is warmer and the piping drains every time it is shut off.
Beer and whiskey, 'cause you can't drink bacon!!

Groceries purchased..... Plants covered outside..... Large potted saga palm moved into garage with a small electric space heater... Chainsaw tested, fueled, and ready to go... Kerosene heater serviced and in the shop on low.... All vehicles topped off.... Hit the ATM for a little extra cash on hand... Firewood stacked on back porch.... Pork ribs cooking low and slow..... And now homemade Fritos chili pie.... ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2021/02/full-25921-281101-00d46af1_7721_4106_a15a_d4bdb18e8fb6.jpeg)

I covered my outside faucets, bought more beer and made a big pot of chili. Gas tanks are full and I'll bring my dog in at dark. I'm as ready as I'm gonna be.

Don’t forget to water the lawn, especially if it’s St. Augustine.

I put a electric blanket inside my double check for my sprinkler system to keep it warm, I also turned off the sprinkler system valves at the double check.
I wouldn't be surprised to see sprinklers systems take a hit as well during the deep freeze that is coming.

Don't try to put corn in a winch up feeder after a full day of sleet that turns to a nice, thick coating of ice. Winchee no workee. Don't try to kick ice out of the way after you've scraped material off the road with the tractor at the entrance by the gate 'cause the imbecile welders hung the gate too low and the moisture and the ice made the road swell up and make it impossible to open the gate. Apparently, the force of your forward moving right leg transfers to your left leg and said left leg becomes airborne, promptly placing your gluteus maximus on the aforementioned ice.

Don’t try to drive up your very steep frozen driveway.....played that game this morning before the 2500 started sliding uncontrollably backwards and by pure luck I was able to steer it just enough to get my front wheels into the grass and whipped the back end around before nailing my wife's car which would have then gone through the garage door.....

Some will profit from what I see on TV. Customers are making a run on some supplies just as they do for hurricanes. It will be a hard earned profit.

Don't forget your garage freezers. That last long freeze we had, my freezer stopped freezing and the meat was thawing. I turned it off and left the door open until the temperature came back up.

I overlooked adding insulation to my water meter box. I appreciate that input. Doubt if I have enough wood for the fireplaces if no power for a long time.
