I bet he only went to realtree was because of money. He also shoots blackcloud, and that stuff is awful.
I'm also interested in why he quit face painting. He was a big believer in that, yet none of this years pics have face paint in it.

I have had good experiences with black cloud shells. Pattern great for me. Why don't you like them?

No. Someone complained that they were able to shoot ducks when everyone else was not. Posited that they were baiting. After 18 month investigation, of which they had no knowledge, they were cleared with no charges.
I can't figure how you would bait a public land hole. There's no guaranty you would be first there. Someone's gonna see you and how on Earth would you get the corn out of the flooded timber after the hunt was finished. Plus, you'd have to bait it more than once and keep on baiting or the hole would dry up.
I could see baiting a field but not flooded timber on public land.
No matter how high a duck flies a hammer still breaks a window.

Yea rediculous. Ironic since they preach the public hunters fellowship, everyone on a team etc etc. Always going to be someone jealous of success.

I tell ya, I hunt a couple of slews I'm always worried some jackass that is deer or hog hunting is going to throw corn out in and along the edges of. I see them corn the roads/trails while hunting deer or hogs. Which is illegal along with the four wheelers they ride through the bottom lands. They don't give a [censored], we all know there is a ton of poaching going on, never see any game wardens in this area. It is what it is. Really in the past 3 years I've been checked by a warden once and I hunt 30+ days a season.

I’ve got a pretty good “In” with the Robertson’s. And I can tell you for a fact, Dr Duck can’t even compare.
Not sure how he’s become popular, but filming public hunts and sleeping in trucks and boats at Bayou Meto and Cache River in Arkansas is nothing new. A lot of us have done it since we were kids.

I'll have to disagree. I have nothing against either crew, DD/DD. Most haters of both would have taken the same journey as both if given the chance. The difference to me is just time....Robertson got going back in a heyday and has turned his success into a private land mecca (good for them). Dr Duck over the last 6-7 years has had to make his hay hunting public land in a lesser flyway than the Robertsons have and has turned it into a brand thats growing. Dr Duck crew just in last couple years has started getting private land perks but he got it started doing things the hard way, in a tougher flyway in tougher times. That name, "Dr Duck" could have been you or me or anyone if we would have copy righted it. But he beat everyone to the X on that one.

All the duck commander things you see are a product of Willie robertson. Not phil Dr duck runs around public land Making cheesy videos, being a social media influencer and re brands cheap.chinese products. See the difference? MAKE vs rebrand chinese made junk? Im Happy for Dr duck. But the comparison is garbage.

^^^^^^^^This is spot on. Phil is about as hardcore of a hunter as they come. And before duck hunting was as popular as it is today, he was just making calls and some videos. They brought my Cousin on board with them after Duckmen 3. And he's been filming with them ever since. But what you see on film is really how they are. Very much into family, faith, and friends. Prolly saved my Cousins life looking back at it. But Willie is the one that really branched the franchise out to what it is today. He's the Marketer!
Dr. Duck is not innovating anything. Just videos and putting his name on merchandise already produced in China or other places. No different than me ordering 1000 backpacks from Japan and embroidering my name on them. And if you actually look at the social media platforms, he's not getting that many views and likes. I think 7k hits on current videos. 20k on videos that are a year old. That's not that good in the current days of Youtubers. I applaud him for what he's accomplished. But night and day comparison between the 2.

I've listened to some of dr ducks podcast and Instagram live stuff. Its ok but was never all that appealing to me.
I was going to buy one of his backpacks to support a tx business but as mentioned its imported China stuff and since covid I'm doing my best to not support China made products.

I assumed we were talking about killing a duck today. I admire both for what they have accomplished, but if I had to bet my net worth on who could kill ducks on public land consistently, I'm taking Dr Duck. But if I had to choose a brand to market, I'm taking Robertson.
That sums it up for me.

It's like comparing Shockley with the Hunting Public. Two different markets. The only thing in common is the beard. I've watched both and will continue to watch both for different reasons.

That sums it up for me. Someone asked who is dr duck. Someone else said robertson lite. Just like you said the comparison is not equivalent. So no it wasn't about shooting ducks. Also dr duck and his compadre are dags. My favorite thing in all of their prostaff stuff is them pimping 737 game calls you can see the ole dr very clearly running a cut down style call. Take a look at 737 and check if they sell a cutdown or just good ole classic j frame.
