Finally got my Axis back from this summer, wasn’t what I was looking for but when hunting free range Axis I took the opportunity I was given! I will be looking for a black buck next. I will say Axis is a lot better meat than whitetail.

Here is a picture from that day, it also happened to be my Birthday. Very tough hunt and looking back at the pictures I look exhausted!

Axis meat is the best. I shoot them whenever I can. I shot this one at 15 yards out of the truck on what we call axis highway. He just thought I could not see him behind a bush.
