Any of you guys ever make a mineral lick for deer? If so, how’d it do? Just curious. I’m gonna give one a try

Dig a hole to put the loose minerals in, place a trace mineral block next to the hole with deer minerals in it. Have it close to a water source.
If you have any sheep around get minerals without or very little copper added.

There are several DIY vids on YouTube that give you the ratios between salt and other minerals. If the link works, it is one I found helpful.

Not sure of the original source, but this comes from notes I have collected over the years.

Quote
Ingredients: Makes 200 lbs

From the Feed Store
1 part Di-calcium phosphate, this is a dairy feed additive bought at feed
stores. Comes in 50lb. Bags need one bag.
2 parts Trace mineral salt, the loose kind without the medications, comes in
50lb bags you need 2 bags.
1 part stock salt, ice cream salt, comes in 50 lb. bags you need 1 bag.

Directions:
Use a large size coffee can to use as your measure for each part of the
mix.
Mix together but not until ready to use keep ingredients separate until
ready to put to use.

Dig or tear up a circle in the soil about 36 inches wide and about 6 inches
deep.
Mix your mineral mixture with the soil.
Refresh in about 6 months with fresh mix of mineral and then each year
there after.
