Gonna ask a different angle to the question:
So AB says they still have 4 minutes to advert their underling brands, which they will use to promote their seltzers and other beta male brands, but they are removing their iconic “anthemic” advert. This is the typical feel good about America advertisement they always make that makes everyone feel good about America.
Is this really a fat punch in the face to all us blue blooded Americans to say we don’t want your kind and instead we want a bunch of seltzer drinking beta males (like the european brand male) or just AB’s way of saying we aren’t sold on the “American” brand anymore?
Since they are still spending millions on 4 minutes of advert, i see this differently than most have posted above... You see everything differently.

People are cutting the cord and not watching .............its that simple. X2 I’ve found myself in a number different public places over the last few months where a NFL game was on a TV and a crowd was present. Nobody was watching.

When the kneeling started, I sent a one finger salute to pro sports. AMF!

The NFL isn't going away. Every major sport would lose out before football. Except maybe the other football (soccer)

I stopped watching the NFL mainly because I hate being preached to and how this kneeling has spread into every aspect of sports. I stopped watching NCAA because the players making these social justice demands, ie UT changing the name to the stadium, which in itself is not bad. It's just the way it was presented. The UT band refusing to play "The Eyes of Texas" because of supposedly racist undertones, TAMU players demanding Sully being brought down.( Not a good subject to speak to my wife about), OSU players telling Mike Gundy they would not play for him if he wore the OAN tshirt again and to apologize. As for the brands not advertising during the SB, I no longer drink alcohol or very little due to health and meds, no sodas because of my health, plus, I prefer tea and coffee now. What really got me about the NFL is when they started with the powers that be against the Dallas Cowboys. Most of yall know several years ago the Cowboys asked if they could put the fallen officers names on their helmets, the ones shot and killed in ambush. NFL said no. Now the NFL lets the teams put names of murderers, drug users/dealers, users, and abusers etc on the uniforms. IMO, disgusting. That should be for PD, FD, or Veterans who have given the ultimate sacrifice or for someone who went above and beyond to help someone in a bad situation. My wife has liked me not watching any ball this year, no longer have to plan weekends around kick offs.

From my understanding Pepsi isnt necessarily pulling out of the super bowl, but instead of spending money on advertisement there putting all their time, effort and money into the half time show.

I don’t even know when the game is, and I don’t care. I do not watch pro football. Haven't watched in a couple of years....not a single game.... Viewership is down....AD revenue is down....decisions have consequences..... The NFL went political and 1/2 their "base" (or more) said "Go F yourself!" They can rot in hell as far as I'm concerned.... The NFL is little more than a bunch of thugs and felons pissing all over American traditional values and our flag which so many have blead and died for.... "F" them!

I agree SW, I'd bet 2beez's horse it's all about viewership and AD revenue. They will spin it in some "virtue signaling" manta tho

Agreed. That said, revenue has been impacted which means less money for the people who hate most of their base. The more people cut the cord the greater the impact to all sports.

Those that live the what I call the “hip hop lifestyle” will always be their main customer base anyway.

Those that live the what I call the “hip hop lifestyle” will always be their main customer base anyway. Totally disagree. I can promise you I don’t live the “hip hop lifestyle” and was a die hard baseball fan. Watched and went to a lot of games every year. I didn’t watch a single baseball game this year. I never went to football games in person, but I did watch them on TV every week until this year. I haven’t watched a single down of a game all year. Same with basketball. I bet most on this forum don’t live the hip hop lifestyle, but I bet you have a bunch of die hard sports fans here. I would argue that middle to upper class is the target demographic for most sports teams.

Not the diehard baseball fans. It’s the football fans from the hip hop demo that don’t care about what the advertisers do. They’re the ones cheering on the kneelers anyway and only care about the latest Nike’s or whatever current fad is out there. The idiot Cowboy fans punching their tv after another hyped up game ending in a loss. I’ll admit I was sucked in too for most of my life. I got tired of investing SO much time and emotion in something that I haven’t missed since I stopped watching.
