10/22’s can be made very accurate, I believe Kyle had the best record on the Cold Bore shot with his and a couple others out there were well under MOA. That and they save you a lot of time if your slow like many of us.

I did win Cold Bore Champion last year. Although my 10/22 is accurate I think that’s more about luck and getting the right wind call lol.
But yes you can make 10/22’s very accurate. I just bought a factory 10/22 and gutted it and replaced everything with KIDD parts. Only thing still factory is receiver and bolt. Then just found the load it liked. In my case it was SK Long Range Match, with SK Standard Plus coming in second.
Target below shows the groups I got out of a bunch of different ammos I tried out of it. Third from left on bottom was the long range match and second from right on bottom was the standard plus. 5 shot groups at 50 yards. All pretty much same hole.

Yep, I built this up for this season but after trying a bunch of different ammos I couldn’t get it to group as good as my KIDD plus I just like the 10/22 better. The target below are all 10 shot groups and it liked the Eley Match the best.

So I guess that gets back to the question. It looks for the most part everyone has a minimum of $500 of parts put into their 10/22. That vs a CZ457 PV which I found new for $570 or the savage B22 precision @$540 or the ruger precision for $470. Anyone know which path is most likely to return most accuracy per $ spent. Also, I gotta say that on the 10/22, to have to remove it from the stock to clean then put it back and sight in is a turn off to me. It’s not that I hate the 10/22, I actually love mine, I just think they have some particular downfalls that bolt guns don’t.

Agree with BIL. I would also add Tikka T1x to the list. I have one and it shoots good with me behind the trigger and great with Sr. behind the trigger. I'll have to add some weight to mine as it is too light for my tastes.
Edit: Just looked up the Savage B22 precision and really like the MDT stock. I would now lean that direction.

I am personally a CZ fan I own four of them they all shoot great.there is also a plethora of aftermarket parts you can get for CZ if you decide to go down that rabbit hole but stock ones shoot very well on a rare occasion you may get a dud. But then it is very easy to change out barrels you can do it yourself. You will like the pro varmint stock it does have a nice feel for doing positional shooting. You can buy a yo Dave trigger spring and install it yourself and makes the trigger very nice they are 25-30 bucks I believe. One of the big things I like on the CZ is their bolt throw and the positioning of their bolt you do not have to go as high as you do on the tx1, hence you can cycle the bolt extremely quick. That's just my two cents and that's probably all it's worth.

One of my cz's is an MTR and it is an awesome rifle you will definitely enjoy it if you buy one. You will definitely want a base that has at least 30 moa and you can go as high as 50 moa and still achieve a 50 yd zero. 30 moa will definitely get you to 300 yards.

jtod, the league targets are very generous, I don’t remember any smaller than 2 MOA except the last KYL target and the Black Death money shoot targets after the league. Just adding a decent barrel to one of your 10/22’s would do the trick.....some of us just got carried away.

Thinking about buying a rifle to join rimfire league. I’ve narrowed it to 4 choices. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Savage B22 precision rimfire Savage mark2 FV Ruger precision rimfire CZ457 pro varmint (varmint stock)
I currently own 3 10/22 rifles, but I think chasing accuracy out of them is a rabbit hole...
I'd vote the CZ.
I borrowed one for half a match from PitchFork Predator (mine got dropped and broke a scope mount). The gun shot lights out and I tried to buy it from him after the match. He held onto it, and I'm still thinking of buying one just like it.
To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and call whatever you hit the target.

That's exactly what BIL said. Will probably go 50 moa.

Not sure if he makes one for the CZ but look at Murphy Precision. I actually won one in the league for my 10/22 and it is great.

Murphy precision does not have it advertised on their website you would need to call him and request the 50 moa for a CZ. I have ordered a couple from him and they are great.

I have an extra new Murphy precision 50 MOA rail for a CZ 457 if you need one

I also would go with the CZ 457. It won't have any feeding ejection issues and It has a good trigger. If the gun's accuracy doesn't meet your expectation, you can drop an after market match barrel in a matter of mintues.

I’m pretty impressed with the kidd barrel I got last year. Whichever way you go, be sure and test as many different types of ammo as you can till you find what it likes.

Well, I ended up getting a CZ457 pro varmint. Hopefully the picture attaches, this is the first time I’ve tried to add one. Took it to the range today and it was what I was hoping for. Thank you everyone for all of your guidance.
