I needed a new scope for my Contender carbine. I checked the specs on a bunch of different scopes from a bunch of different companies. The parameters were 1" main tube dia, no tacticool scopes, up to around 10x and it needed to be under 12".
I really liked the looks and specs on the Burris FFIV 2.5-10x44. It checked all the boxes and had their new e3 reticle.
The e3 is much like the old German G4with a half height center post

The big issue has been availability. My guess is the Covid has pushed delivery back by several months.
After a long wait it finally showed up yesterday. Of course I had to mount it up on the Contender.
First impressions are..Nice compact presentation. Feels a bit heavy for its size but not excessive.
Really bright undistorted sight picture, good colors and crispy image.
Mounted it up in a new DNZ mount (bombproof!) And did a laser bore sight. The good omen was that the scope was really close to being on the chili right out of the box. Only had to make a left windage adjustment of about 4 clicks.
I plan to do the range work this weekend I will update with results.

Burris customer service is really good. They replaced a 4 year old pair of Fullfield Binoculars that had a cracked eye with a brand new up graded version.
